Ready for High Country Adventure?

…Jesus said, “I am among you as one who serves.” (Luke 22:27)

Officers’ Christian Fellowship presents a challenging mission statement: “Christian officers exercising biblical leadership to raise up a godly military.” It is a call for persons of character and faith willing to exercise servant leadership in our armed forces.

Rocky Mountain High (RMH) is an outdoor adventure program that focuses on Biblical principles and the character of Jesus as prime examples for leadership.

Taking place in Colorado's spectacular Collegiate Peaks Range, Rocky Mountain High is a unique program designed to impart to future officers the desire and ability to exalt Jesus Christ within the military community.

The objectives of RMH are:

  • Encourage personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord.
  • Examine fundamental leadership principles exemplified in the life of Jesus.
  • Impart a clear vision for serving as a missionary while in the military.

…Learn from those who’ve been there.

We invite seasoned Christian leaders with military experience to act as volunteer instructor/mentors for each weekly session. These active duty and retired officers and NCOs share valuable life lessons as they lead morning devotions and evening instruction periods. The relaxed atmosphere allows plenty of time for questions, one-on-one conversations, and spontaneous praise and worship!

…What’s a trip to Colorado without an adrenaline rush?

RMH days are filled with high-energy, challenging outdoor activities such as rock climbing and rappelling, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and a multi-day backpacking trek to a 14,000 foot peak*. These high-adventure endeavors provide an authentic Colorado experience and are a memorable backdrop to the fellowship and learning experienced during the week. Our knowledgeable guide staff will safely lead the way and provide instruction if you need it, and much of the gear can be provided by Spring Canyon.

… Enjoy God’s living room

While at Spring Canyon, you’ll stay at Camp Buxton – a tent base camp in beautiful scenery located a few minutes walk from our main lodge. Large, metal-frame tents serve as sleeping quarters and a fire pit radiates warmth for fellowship on cool mountain nights – it’s the perfect setting to experience some of the best of God’s creation! And don’t worry, it also features a fully equipped bathhouse with facilities for men and women, and limited laundry facilities, too. Out on the trek, you’ll stay warm and dry in our all-season backpacking tents and cold-weather sleeping bags – or bring your own gear if you prefer….

While specifically designed for college ROTC cadets, midshipman and junior officers from all military services, Rocky Mountain High is open to anyone above the age of 18 who is desiring to learn more about Biblical leadership. Scholarships are available.

…Your help is appreciated.

Rocky Mountain High operates by the grace of God through the generous donations of time, talent, financial resources, and most importantly, the prayers of many. We are able to offer this program at a price greatly below the actual costs because of this generosity. If you would like to contribute in any way to support the program, please contact Spring Canyon or visit our website.

Additionally, persons with military experience may apply to return as volunteer instructors for Rocky Mountain High. As an instructor, you can share your leadership and life experiences with students to prepare them as officers and missionaries in uniform.
