DESCRIPTION:Speaker: VADM Luke McCollum\, USN (Ret.) \nVice Admiral Luke McCollum retired from the U. S Navy in 2020 after completing 37 years of service. His last assignment was in Washington DC where he served as the 14th Chief of Navy Reserve. Luke also served as corporate vice president\, Walmart Inc. at its Bentonville\, AR\, based headquarters where he held key leadership positions in the company’s supply chain\, technology\, and international divisions during his 25 years with the company. He and his wife\, Leanna\, have been married for 41 years\, raised 4 children\, and share a lifelong passion of serving in the local church. \nTopic: “Decision Points to Turning Points: Living Abundantly in Christ” \nLuke will discuss how using God’s Word as our foundation for decision making is key to an abundant life in Christ. Using Biblical examples\, personal experiences\, and family testimonies\, Luke will illustrate how key decision points can become life impacting turning points whether it’s raising a family at home\, progressing in a career\, or serving in ministry. \nGuest Ambassadors: Col Chet Arnold\, USMC (Ret.) \nOptional Fly Fishing Track!\nTSgt Ryan Padgett\, USAF (Ret.) and guides from Bold Face Fly Fishing will lead Spring Canyon’s Summer Celebration Fly Fishing Track.  Experience the beauty\, wonder\, and delight of God’s amazing creation while building fun new skills under exceptional instruction.  Bold Face Fly Fishing is a nonprofit that thanks “everyday heroes” (military\, first responders\, and healthcare workers) and introduces them to the peace\, excitement\, and fellowship of fly fishing.\n\nThis optional track includes approx. 2.5 days of hands-on instruction and fly fishing experience at Spring Canyon and the nearby Arkansas River Valley.\n\n\nDay 1 (Spring Canyon Ponds): Gear assembly\, knot-tying\, and casting fundamentals\nDay 2 (Arkansas River): Nymphing and dry fly fishing\, visiting a local fly fishing outfitter\, approaching the water\, fishing on site!\nDay 3 (Arkansas River): Care and release of fish\, knowing and respecting local regulations\, fishing on site!\nBring your catch back to Spring Canyon and let our kitchen team cook and serve them for you!\n\n\nCost:  $100\nLimited to the first eight signups.  Minimum age 14. \nYou’re welcome to bring your own gear\, or Spring Canyon and Bold Face Fly Fishing will provide gear.\nGuests will need to purchase a Colorado Parks & Wildlife fishing license.\nMake a Reservation

DESCRIPTION:Mentor: LTC David Schulz\, USA (Ret) \nDavid enlisted in the Army at 17\, and then Commissioned as an Infantry Officer. After attending Airborne and Ranger schools\, he led Infantry soldiers during several deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. He later transitioned to a Foreign Area Officer assigned to Latin America\, where he held foreign policy roles at the US Embassies in El Salvador\, Mexico and US Northern Command and I was also fortunate to serve as a White House Fellow. He is a proud husband and father of two young girls. \nHe hope to be able to share his experiences and lessons learned with young military officers and cadets in hopes of inspiring others to serve our nation and lead our military with a Christ-minded focus. \nMake a Reservation

DESCRIPTION:Mentor: Col Rick Kuhlman\, USAFR (Ret.) \nRick Kuhlman is a lifelong Knoxvillian. He graduated from West High School and achieved Eagle Scout. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee\, Knoxville. At UT he served as president of his fraternity and Commander of the Arnold Air Society in Air Force ROTC. Kuhlman served over 30 years (active and reserve)\, retiring in the rank of Colonel. Rick still serves as an Air Liaison Officer for the United States Air Force Academy. \nKuhlman was active during the World’s Fair in 1982\, when it was held in Knoxville. Kuhlman was active in business\, owning and operating 4 pizza restaurants\, Stefanos\, from 1986-2003. In 2006 Kuhlman pioneered the Knoxville Fellows Program to enable recent college graduates to spend 10 months in Knoxville learning how to integrate their Christian faith in the marketplace. \nRick has a passion for encouraging the next generation. He was active in Scouting\, his church youth program\, chapter advisor for his college fraternity\, and high school Bible studies. Rick has had the opportunity to mentor the Father Teen Adventure at the Spring Canyon Conference Center through Officers’ Christian Fellowship since 2004. \nRick has been married to his college sweetheart\, Beverley for 50 years. They have one son Rick III\, wife Jamie and 2 granddaughters\, Ella Katherine\, and Charlotte. \nMake a Reservation
