SUMMARY:Rocky Mountain High #3
DESCRIPTION:Mentor: Lt Col Andrew Mccoy\, USAF (Ret.) \nAndrew is a retired Air Force officer\, aviator and current business management consultant. Married 33 years with 6 children and 1 granddaughter. A 1992 graduate from the Air Force Academy\, he served in intelligence officer\, pilot\, military attache\, and air advisor roles. He has also served in overseas missions\, on-base Bible studies\, and leadership in Christian non-profit ministry. Since retiring from the Air Force\, Andrew has served in leadership positions in two non-profits\, started 3 businesses\, and worked as a consultant. Currently\, he leads a men’s group at his church and enjoys supporting and participating in international Business as Mission efforts. In his free time he enjoys outdoor activities with his family including skiing\, hiking\, mountain biking\, golf\, and camping. He has completed 300 of 500 miles of the Colorado Trail and hopes to finish it in the next 2 years. \nAs an RMH mentor\, Andrew’s goal is to walk alongside participants as they grow in faith\, character\, and leadership. He wants to help future officers reflect honestly on their experiences\, think clearly about calling and direction\, and develop the habits needed to lead well in complex and demanding environments. He is look forward to leveraging his experiences and the unique outdoor settings to encourage an integrated Christian faith that shapes how they make decisions\, relate to others\, and step forward in their careers to glorify God with all their heart\, soul\, mind\, and strength. \nCo-Mentor: LT Jake Skimmons\, USCG \nLieutenant Jacob Skimmons is a staff engineer at the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Center in Washington\, D.C.  After graduating from the Coast Guard Academy in 2020\, he served as damage control assistant aboard the heavy icebreaker POLAR STAR (WAGB-10)\, then earned a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He is also a 2021 Saratoga Fellow and second-place winner of the U.S. Naval Institute’s 2024 Coast Guard Essay Contest.  For recreation\, he enjoys cycling\, rowing\, and being outdoors.\n\n\n\nJake would like to pay forward the experience he had at Rocky Mountain High as a cadet in 2019.  Since the program seeks to build Christian faith in cadets and midshipmen through challenges in nature\, it is an opportunity to serve God with both my outdoorsman and leadership skills.  His goal is to build a solid fellowship among the crew and inspire faith by encouraging them in taking on challenges\, both physically in the Collegiate Peaks\, and spiritually in God’s word.  Through that\, we will all draw nearer to God.\n\n\nMake a Reservation
