SUMMARY:Summer Celebration #8 (Medical Week)
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Lt Col Del Tackett\, USAF (Ret.) \nDr. Tackett served over twenty years on active duty in the United States Air Force\, including four years on the faculty of Air University and as Deputy Commander of the 47th Communications Group supporting the multinational NORAD command. He also served on the White House staff during the George H. W. Bush Administration\, and as Director of Technical Planning for the National Security Council. He served as Senior Vice President of Focus on the Family and President of Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado Springs\, CO. He Dr. Tackett developed and is the speaker of the Truth Project. He lectures extensively on developing a Christian world view and America’s Christian heritage for Summit Ministries and at conferences and churches around the country. \nWhile Del was working in national security at the White House under US President George H. W. Bush\, the Lord began breaking his heart for the state of the nation and the church. He was burdened that so many believers had lost their biblical worldview—they weren’t looking at the world around them through the lens of Scripture. \nAfter leaving the White House\, Del helped start a seminary where the founders hoped to begin addressing these shortcomings. To systematically teach a biblical worldview\, Del compiled a comprehensive curriculum that became the basis for the Truth Project\, a DVD curriculum distributed by Focus on the Family. \nTopic: “The Engagement Project” \nIn the Engagement Project\, Dr. Tackett answers two important questions\, Why did Jesus leave? and Why does God send? The answers to these questions may turn your world right-side up. In this new series\, Dr. Del Tackett takes us on a series of worldview tours that reveal God’s endgame for all of us… what He is after. You’ll discover God’s world-changing mission for yourself and for your family and that Jesus has told us exactly what He wants us to do. In the Engagement Project\, you’ll learn why & how this will change everything. \nFind out more about the Engagement Project here. \nGuest Ambassadors: Dr (COL) Arnie Ahnfeldt\, USA (Ret.) and Dr (COL) Jeff Ginther\, USA (Ret.) \nMake a Reservation

SUMMARY:Rocky Mountain High #7
DESCRIPTION:Mentor: Aaron Sherbondy \nAaron is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and served over 25 years in various leadership roles across the military and law enforcement communities. He is also a graduate of numerous military and law enforcement schools\, and is privileged to have worked alongside the some of the finest men and women in the U.S. and around the world. \nHe hopes to provide the young men and women at RMH a chance to reflect on who they are as sons and daughters of the King\, and then how to apply that identity daily to their roles as spouses\, parents\, officers\, and after the military.   \nCo-Mentor: CAPT Robert (Buzz) Buzzell\, USN (Ret.) \nBuzz joined the USAF at 20 years of age\, transferred to the US Navy to fly and finished career as a military diplomat in Europe 34 years later. Most memorable events – the 3rd American to finish the Swedish Classic (56 miles cross country ski\, 3-mile river swim\, 19-mile trail run\, 200-mile bike)\, 100 mile 4-day march in the Netherlands\, 1\,000-mile bike ride across France in 7 days. It’s not the events that are memorable but the people and culture that surround those events. As a RMH mentor he wants to give a glimpse that life is not easy\, challenges of all forms will arise\, but with our Lord and Savior as the focus we can deal with all challenges through Him. No dream is too high\, nor obstacle to difficult\, but humbly taking one step at a time anything is possible. \nMake a Reservation

SUMMARY:Summer Celebration #5 (Work Week)
DESCRIPTION:Work week volunteers must be 14 years or older\, and should be physically able to work at least 8 hours each day\, completing manual labor tasks such as fire mitigation\, wood splitting\, building repairs\, climbing ladders\, and more. We will schedule a half-day off for all volunteers\, with optional activities (some with an additional cost) like whitewater rafting\, indoor climbing wall\, and hot springs. Volunteers\, guests\, and staff will gather for meals and engaging teaching sessions with our guest speaker during the day. \nWe will offer a limited children’s program for ages 0-13. Two of the evening teaching sessions will include separate children’s program sessions; the other sessions will not include a children’s program. We will also offer optional babysitting (additional cost) on two separate mornings. \nCost:\nFor volunteers (ages 14 and up) who work the full session\, there is no cost! Volunteers still get the scheduled half-day off. \nFor all other guests who are not working the full session\, we offer a 20% discount from our standard Summer Celebration rates. No other discounts are compatible with these rates. \nPlease register online and email reservations@springcanyon.org if you plan to attend Work Week. Let us know whether members of your family or group will attend as volunteers workers or guests. This will help us accurately plan and organize our work projects. \nThanks for considering helping Spring Canyon tackle some larger projects to benefit the property and better serve our guests! \nFeel free to contact our guest services team with any additional questions: (719) 395-2328 or reservations@springcanyon.org \nSpeaker: Noble Gibbens \nNoble is the person you’d least expect to be talking about feelings & emotions! An uncharacteristic fight with his wife a few years ago revealed a glaring issue: he was clueless when it came to handling his emotions. \nThis West Point grad & former Army Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division is now an EQ Practitioner and teaches Emotional Intelligence on his highly rated podcast\, EQ Gangster\, in his EQ Mafia Membership and through corporate coaching & consulting. \nDon’t let the big beard & tattoos fool you – Noble is pure positive energy & passion! He brings 23 years’ experience as an entrepreneur and international keynote speaker to help corporate clients\, entrepreneurs\, leaders & influencers get their emotions working for them\, not against them. \nHe has been married to Kathy for 27 years and they have a 15 y/o junior in high school. \nTopic: “Did the Emotional Clue Bus Pass You By? How Your Emotional Fitness Affects & Impacts Every Area of Your Life” \nOur ability (or inability) to process our emotions affects our relationship w/the Lord\, our families\, our friends & our co-workers. How many of us have ever been trained on our emotional fitness? How frequently do you emotionally “work out”? This week we will discuss Biblical examples of the power of emotions and learn practical exercises of how to grow & develop our emotional fitness. \nMake a Reservation

SUMMARY:Summer Celebration #2 (Homeschool Week)
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dr. Tegan Truitt \nTegan Truitt is a husband\, father\, university educator\, economist\, Anglican seminarian\, and homeschool graduate. He met his wife Bethany working at Spring Canyon\, where they were subsequently engaged and married. They have one son\, Eliot\, who seems to share his father’s love of books. You can often find the Truitt family hiking\, playing board games\, or cooking for friends. When not teaching undergraduates or researching European economic history\, Tegan likes to read classic literature. He will receive his doctorate in economics from George Mason University in May\, and return to his alma mater Grove City College as Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics in July. \nTopic: “Education and the Christian Vision” \nOur world is a deliberate communication from God to His creatures. Secular education tends to see the hard sciences as fundamental and the humanities (art\, literature\, music\, etc.) as mere expensive indulgences. But if all the natural world is a communication from God\, then physics and chemistry do not describe fundamental reality – they describe fundamental features of our world\, which point deliberately to a God who transcends that world. Conversely\, the humanities offer us a unique way to represent God as His image bearers – as sub-creators and sub-communicators ourselves. These sessions will describe a mode of education ordered toward giving students this Christian vision of the world\, with special attention to the questions of how\, and why\, parents are uniquely equipped to give heir children such an education in the home. \nGuest Ambassadors: COL Rob and Tami Jassey\, USA (Ret.) \nMake a Reservation

SUMMARY:RMH Mentor Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Our Spring Canyon Outdoor staff is inviting all past\, present\, and future RMH Mentors to attend the Rocky Mountain High Mentor Conference. If you get here\, your room and board will be covered by Spring Canyon. Attending this conference does not require\, nor does it guarantee\, that you will be a mentor for the upcoming summer. The purpose of this annual conference will be professional/spiritual development for a growing cadre of RMH mentors that are unified in supporting the OCF/Rocky Mountain High mission (Psalm 133). If you cannot attend in person\, let us know so that we can make sure you have the link for portions of the conference that will be live streamed.  During the conference\, we will engage in workshops concerning these issues: \n\n      Understanding the scope of the OCF RMH ministry.\n      Discussing the current cultural climate in the military\, and learning how to mentor RMHers with regard to the issues they will face.\n      Relationship building\, benchmarking\, and networking for the sustained encouragement and mentorship of our cadre of RMH mentors.\n\nMake a ReservationIf you’d like to be a mentor for summer 2025\, please fill out the appropriate application below. However\, you are not required to complete an application in order to attend this retreat. \n2025 First time mentor application2025 alumni mentor application
