SUMMARY:2022 OCF Chaplains' Family Conference
DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\nCH(MG) Doug Carver\, USA (Ret.) \nChaplain (Major General) Doug Carver\, US Army\, retired\, is the  Executive Director of Chaplaincy for the Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Mission Board. An advocate for the religious liberty of service members\, veterans\, and their families\, he oversees the professional and pastoral support to 3700 Southern Baptist Chaplains who minister in various institutional settings in the United States and around the world.   \nPrior to joining the North American Mission Board\, he was the Army’s 22nd Chief of Chaplains (2007-2011)\, leading and serving over 2900 chaplains supporting the religious and pastoral needs of our 1.2 million soldiers and families. Chaplain Carver served at every level of the Army\, from platoon to the Department of the Army Staff. At the beginning of the Iraq War in 2003\, he served as the senior military chaplain in the combat theater of operations.  \nA native of Rome\, Georgia\, he and his wife\, Sunny\, celebrate 48 years of marriage and reside in Charlotte\, North Carolina near their two daughters and four grandchildren. \nTopic:\nThe Christian’s Secret Weapon\nThe weapons we use in our fight are not the world’s weapons but God’s powerful weapons…” (2 Cor. 10:4). The most effective weapons that God has given us for living out our Christian life in a fallen world aren’t always the most prominent\, the most noticed\, or even the most clearly understood for their importance. These include prayer\, worship\, spiritual disciplines\, biblical literacy\, Christian witness\, perseverance\, and rest. One of the most important\, and seldom addressed\, is the fear of God. Our Chaplains’ Family Conference will provide a fresh understanding of the fear of the Lord\, “the beginning of knowledge.” (Proverbs 1:7). \nGuest Ambassadors:\nCOL and Mrs. Arnie Ahnfeldt\, USA (Ret.)\n$100/adults (13 and above) and 30% off for kids (3-12); Free 0-2 \nRegister for Event

SUMMARY:OCF Local Leader Conference
DESCRIPTION:Gather with current and potential leaders of OCF local fellowships to advance God’s kingdom within the military community and to equip lay leaders with practical tools for everyday ministry. These conferences are hands-on experiences: attendees are participants\, not just recipients.  Participants can attend a variety of workshops presented by leaders in the field. Opportunities to exchange lessons learned are vital to ministry efforts. Come rediscover how your grassroots ministry contributes to the worldwide ministry of OCF! \nPlease note there us a children’s and teen’s program provided at no extra charge. \nKeynote Speaker:\nCol Houstoun Waring\, V\, USAF (Ret)\nHous and his wife\, Tami\, are both US Air Force Academy graduates who were introduced to OCF during our cadet years. This introduction brought them into marriage desiring to do military ministry together.  The vision of living an integrated life informed Hous’ professional role as an F-15E Strike Eagle pilot\, commander\, and staff officer.  Together they matured in faith and in OCF ministry work through the training of OCF staff\, retreats and conferences\, staff visits\, OCF council service\, but especially through the weekly gathering of saints wherever they were assigned. Hous and Tami are now in their 9th year as staff with OCF. \nGod has blessed their family with children and grandchildren who are scattered across eight states. Hous states\, “I have a hard time sitting still as I enjoy working with my hands and being outside.  Tami and I travel to visit and encourage those who are serving\, or who have served\, in the military.  We also meet with leaders of local churches and like-minded partners who are connected to the military community.” \nPricing:\nAdult (13+): $150 – Youth (6-12): $90 – Child (3-5): $45\nRegister for Event

SUMMARY:Winter Sports Retreat #2
DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\nCol Chet Arnold\, USMC (Ret.)\nCol Chet & Mrs Michelle Arnold USMC (Ret) serve with OCF as the Southeast Coastal Region Coordinators home based in Pensacola FL. They have been married over 38 years and have seven children and five grandchildren. \nTopic:\n“The Gospel in Judges”\nThe Gospel comes alive in Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. Judges relates the story of the nation of Israel’s continued sin and God’s continued work in and through them to bring about His glorious plan. This book of the Bible helps us understand how we are to live in this broken world walking through life in these broken vessels and how through it all our God remains faithful and true to His promises. Judges clearly shows that God’s people need a king. Thank God for King Jesus! \nGuest Ambassadors:\nLTC Keith and Jennifer Purvis\, USA (Ret.)\nRegister for WSR 2

As Christians\, we know the ultimate source for truth is God’s Word (John 17:17). So does modern science contradict or affirm the Bible? In this series\, we will look at what science is and provide an interpretive lens to view “modern science” based upon a biblical worldview. A host of current scientific and biblical topics will be touched on including creation\, evolution\, climate change\, and the flood. \nGuest Ambassadors:\nLCDR Eric and Melanie McMullen\, USN (Ret.)\nRegister for WSR 1

SUMMARY:Summer Celebration #8 (Medical Week)
DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\nRoc Bottomly\nRoc Bottomly is an Air Force Academy graduate finishing with a B.S. in Astronautical Engineering. As a cadet\, Roc trusted Christ through the Navigators’ ministry and worked closely with them as a lay leader in military\, collegiate and community ministries throughout his service years. While in the Air Force (1969-1976)\, he served as both a flight instructor and an intercontinental transport pilot. He then graduated with a Th.M. (Master of Theology) from Dallas Theological Seminary. From 1981 to 2001 Roc then served as senior pastor for multiple churches. In 2001\, Roc moved to Colorado Springs to become the Senior Fellow for Marriage Studies for the Focus on the Family Institute. For the next seven years\, he and his wife\, Bev\, taught biblical marriage to the 1800 students who passed through the Institute during their tenure. In 2008\, Roc became the lead pastor at Our Lord’s community Church where he is working to help build a Word-Spirit church committed to “being and making disciples… starting right where we are.” \nRoc married his wife\, Bev\, in 1974; and they have four grown children and thirteen grandchildren. \nTopic:\n“The Love of God”\nTHE LOVE OF GOD.  It is the most important subject in the world! It is only as we realize and receive God’s love for us that we are able to do life’s most important thing… “Love the LORD your God… love your neighbor….” \nGod’s love… \n·        Ignites our desire.  It is the engine of our life with God.  It is what makes us want God and His way for our life.  “… for Christ’s love compels us….” – Paul. \n·        Provides our direction.  It is the steering wheel of our life with God. It is how we know what to do in the tumble of daily life.  “A new command I give you…. As I have loved you\, so you must love one another.” – Jesus. \n·        Describes our destiny.  It is our destination.  It is how we will all be in the wonderful End.  “But we know that when he appears\, we shall be like him….” – John. \nIn our times together\, we will explore what God tells us about His love from Him Word.  We will ask the Holy Spirit to help us get it.  We will think about where we need to reflect it to those closest. \nGod tells us that His love “surpasses knowledge”; so there is always more to understand and more to enjoy in this genuinely astounding wonder of life! \nGuest Ambassadors:\nDr (COL) Arnie Ahnfeldt\, USA (Ret.) and Dr (COL) Jeff Ginther\, USA (Ret.)

DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\nDr. Berkley Baker\nBerkley Baker served as an Army officer and has worked in healthcare for approximately twenty years. He serves as an elder at Hope and Life Fellowship and enjoys studying the Scriptures and teaching. He holds a doctorate from Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business\, an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University\, and a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Berkley lives in Lawrenceville\, Georgia\, with his wife and three children. \nTopic:\n“Walking WITH God in a Post-COVID World”\nJesus’ parents left Him in Jerusalem. The rich young ruler walked away from Jesus. Even Saul\, despite his religious lifestyle\, missed God. It’s sobering to think about how often people living for God found themselves almost living with Him. Dr. Baker will explore the reality of loving people leaving Jesus behind out of misunderstanding His divine nature. He will explain how experiencing godly miracles may still leave us eternally separated. We’ll examine how abandonment is a necessary part of our Christ-like transformation. We’ll discover how Jesus’ response to a woman caught having illicit sex teaches us something about intimacy. God designed us to have a dynamic\, personal relationship with Him. In introducing The Four Blends of Divine Nature®\, Dr. Baker’s goal is to awaken us to grow beyond the scripted life of living for God and move us into the abundant purpose-filled life of living with Him. \nGuest Ambassadors:\nRoyce and Shawn Bervig

SUMMARY:Summer Celebration #5
DESCRIPTION:Speaker(s):\nDr. Del Tackett\, Lt Col\, USAF (Ret.)\nDr. Tackett served over twenty years on active duty in the United States Air Force\, including four years on the faculty of Air University and as Deputy Commander of the 47th Communications Group supporting the multinational NORAD command. He also served on the White House staff during the George H. W. Bush Administration\, and as Director of Technical Planning for the National Security Council. He served as Senior Vice President of Focus on the Family and President of Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado Springs\, CO. He Dr. Tackett developed and is the speaker of the Truth Project. He lectures extensively on developing a Christian world view and America’s Christian heritage for Summit Ministries and at conferences and churches around the country. \nWhile Del was working in national security at the White House under US President George H. W. Bush\, the Lord began breaking his heart for the state of the nation and the church. He was burdened that so many believers had lost their biblical worldview—they weren’t looking at the world around them through the lens of Scripture. \nAfter leaving the White House\, Del helped start a seminary where the founders hoped to begin addressing these shortcomings. To systematically teach a biblical worldview\, Del compiled a comprehensive curriculum that became the basis for the Truth Project\, a DVD curriculum distributed by Focus on the Family. \nTopic:\n“The Engagement Project”\nIn the Engagement Project\, Dr. Tackett answers two important questions\, Why did Jesus leave? and Why does God send? The answers to these questions may turn your world right-side up. In this new series\, Dr. Del Tackett takes us on a series of worldview tours that reveal God’s endgame for all of us… what He is after. You’ll discover God’s world-changing mission for yourself and for your family and that Jesus has told us exactly what He wants us to do. In the Engagement Project\, you’ll learn why & how this will change everything. \nGuest Ambassadors:\nCol Steve and Miriam Shambach\, USA (Ret.)

SUMMARY:Summer Celebration #4 (Call for Availability)
DESCRIPTION:Speaker(s):\nDr. Bob Ewell\, Lt Col\, USAF (Ret.)\nBob Ewell has a life-long passion to know God’s Word\, obey it\, teach it\, and help others do the same. He and his wife\, June\, celebrated their 50th anniversary in September 2018 and have four grown children and eight grandchildren. \nBob graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Clemson University\, and during a 20-year career in the US Air Force\, served in space operations\, instructor at Squadron Officer School\, Air Force Space Command Headquarters\, and commander of a training squadron. He earned a Master’s of Education from Troy State\, and an Ed.D. from Auburn. After retiring from the Air Force in Colorado Springs in 1990\, he operated his own statistical consulting business for 10 years before serving as Minister of Discipleship at a church in Alabama. Returning to Colorado in 2006\, Bob and June settled in Monument and began to serve full time with The Navigators\, “equipping ordinary people to make a difference where they are and helping willing pastors do the same.” \nBob will be the primary speaker\, but June is available and eager to engage with interested women\, especially one-on-one. \nTopic:\n“Everyone on the Wall!”\nJesus observed a shortage of workers in Matthew 9.36 – 10.5.
