Our Apprentice program is a great opportunity for previous Spring Canyon volunteers to serve alongside Senior Staff and Spring Canyon year-round staff in specific functional areas. Apprentices volunteer for 4-5 weeks in roles such as Outdoor Programs, Kitchen, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Teacher Assistants, Programs and Dining Room Host.

Apprentices must be 17-19 years old and must have previously served as a Cornerstone volunteer during a summer at Spring Canyon. Because of the maturity required, serving as an Apprentice can be a great fit for recent high school graduates. In addition to working in their assigned functional areas, Apprentices also assist Cornerstone in activities such as housekeeping and dishwashing when required.

Apprentice positions available:

• Kitchen – help with meal preparation by preparing the salad bar, cleaning, and performing other meal prep duties as instructed.
• Outdoor Programs – assist our Outdoor Guide team at Holy Water (climb and rappel site), the high ropes course, trek meal preparation and packing, daily HOC cleaning, Buxton blitzing, fire-starting and the Challenge course. On days not needed the Guide Apprentice will join the Project Crew with the maintenance team.
• Housekeeping – help the Housekeeping Lead in prepping for the weekly blitz, taking care of laundry, and cleaning as needed. The Housekeeping Apprentice may also help with standard Cornerstone duties in the kitchen and housekeeping as assigned.
• Maintenance – works with our maintenance team on special projects. The projects will include wood cutting, landscaping, trail maintenance and more. The Maintenance Apprentice may also help with standard Cornerstone duties in the kitchen and housekeeping as assigned.
• Teacher Assistants – supports the Children’s Program teachers and work with guests’ children ages 0-12. If not needed in a classroom during a particular week, the Teacher’s Apprentice will help with standard Cornerstone duties in the kitchen or on the project crew with maintenance, as well as with the weekly blitz

Note that Apprentice and Cornerstone volunteers complete the same summer staff application. We ask that Apprentice applicants be willing to serve as Cornerstone volunteers if not selected for Apprentice positions.

Apprentice Session 1: June 1 – July 10, 2026
Apprentice Session 2: July 6 – August 3, 2026

Apprentice and Cornerstone applications will be accepted December 15, 2025 through February 15, 2026. 

Applicants under 18 must apply through a parent’s UltraCamp account (signature required by a parent/guardian).
